The 2018 edition of Battle of the OAPs (BOTO, Ibadan) is here!
From the 22nd to the 25th of November, Africa’s largest karaoke competition will take centre-stage in the city of Ibadan.
All roads will lead to Options 24/7 lounge as 15 radio stations will battle for a chance to reign supreme as the kings and queens of karaoke in the city. And it promises to be even more competitive than has ever been.
Last year, the final was keenly contested between Lead Radio 106.3 fm and Diamond 101.1fm. In the end, Lead Radio pulled out all the stops and stormed to a win to become the reigning champions of the event powered by Nairoke Entertainment.
And now, the goal will be the same across board: Upstage the current champions and wear the crown. The question is which radio station will be crowned champion this time around?
Unlike in previous editions of the competition, Options 24/7 lounge is the only venue that will be used. From the group stages to the final which will take place on the 25th, the lounge will be the only battleground used.
This means there’s only one place to see your favorite OAPs sing their hearts out this month. This November, there’s only one place to be if you want to see your favorite OAPs sing and dance for points. This month, there’s only one location in the country to see karaoke like never before.
Mark your calendars ladies and gentlemen. Get familiar with the location (if you’re in Ibadan and you no sabi Options 24/7, na wa to you oh!). You’re wondering where the entry fee is, right? Well, there’s none as entry is absolutely free!
The schedule for the four days is the same. Meet & Greet will start from 6pm. And when the clock reads 8pm, the karaoke battle will begin.
Battle of the OAPs will surely make it a November to remember for you!
Some of the participating radio stations include:
– Lead Radio: The reigning champions came with the fire last year. With the way they won the final, the belief will be sky-high going into this one. And why not? As champions, they hold the bragging rights
– R2 fm: Unluckily, they could not defend their title last year. This and many more will be on the agenda when the Royal Roots fm OAPs grab the mic during this karaoke competition
– 32fm: A second appearance in the competition is confirmed. They will surely be looking to go one better this time around
– Space fm: Their OAPs will definitely be looking to use the space provided to prove to the judges that they are worthy champs
– Inspiration fm: The name says it all. You can expected inspired karaoke performances from the radio’s OAPs
– Petals fm: Yet another radio station that will want to make a first appearance in the final of the competition.
